Greens update

Dear member,
Greens report
Monday 2nd September the Air2 G2 continued on greens 1, 3, 4, 5 and 9 to a depth of 10 inches. This will help break up the soil and thatch level further helping the greens to drain quicker and better. All greens have now been completed and the machine has been returned.
Tuesday 3rd September
Greens sprayed with Exteris fungicide for curative and protective activity for the fusarium and Anthracnose on the greens. Given time this treatment will help the green surface recover to control disease.
Wednesday 4th September- Cutting a preparation of machines for coring.
Thursday 5th September
2nd 5th 6th 8th 10th and 14th were all cored .The 8th 10th and 14th greens dressed with ceramic profile to help cure nostoc surface algie caused by compaction and saturated ground conditions. This will also aid the drying process on the greens.
Greens then top dressed with moist Mansil 35 golf sand. The greens were then drag brushed and drag matted to help level playing surface. The sand will help the green foundations drain better and break up the thatch level below the green.
Friday 6th September- General course works and cutting.
Monday 9th September
Greens fertilised with C complex to speed up recovery and growth of the putting surfaces.
Overall- The greens works have been successful and the water is draining quicker from the putting surfaces. The disease that was on a few of the greens is now under control. Hopefully 6 more greens will be cored and top dressed before the end of the week. The greenstaff have been authorised as much overtime and resources as it take to aid the recovery after the wet period.
The Grass on fairways due to moist weather conditions and growth rate. At the moment we are cutting fairways twice per week . The best way to reduce unsightly grass cuttings is to use Tornado blower to blow debri away. Unfortunately at the moment we do not have a tractor with the power capacity to operate the Tornado blower. Hopefully the tractor will be back from repair and help to disperse the loose grass from the fairways. If conditions continue dry, its planned to drop the cut of the fairway for a lower more manageable fairway surface. The rough is slowly being cut back to a more manageable level, but its proving a challenge with rain fall and wet conditions.
Thanks to all the members who gave up their time and supported the green staff last Thursday!
