Jerviston trophy cancelled

Due to the terrible weather conditions we have experienced over the last 7 days or so,  the Jerviston trophy on Saturday 24th August has been postponed. The greenstaff have worked tirelessly throughout the week verti draining nearly all of the greens to try and disperse the water from the playing surfaces, but at 5 pm tonight after the latest downpour it became clear the greens would not be playable within the next 24 hours.

The tees and fairways are playable and a credit to all the work done over the winter period last year, but unfortunately the greens have let us down. A full plan to attack the thatch level below the greens will be put in place and distributed to the membership very soon. Thanks to all the membership for their understanding during these difficult conditions.

The golf course will be inspected at 6 am on Saturday 24th August and hopefully some of the course will be in play. The result of the inspection will be on the facebook greens page as early as possible tomorrow morning. Any play tomorrow will back to a ball in the chute and no online bookings. All medal times will be cancelled and a new date for the Jerviston trophy will be  arranged and communicated by the match and handicap section.
